Here are some tips to help you learn English. We hope they are helpful.

Practise new words every day When you learn a new word, practise it by using flashcards and by trying to put it into a sentence. Get a friend to help you.

Speak English! It isn’t easy to try to speak in a new language when you first start, but doing this can really help you to speak better English faster. This is a good reason to join Conversation Club. There are lots of friendly English-speakers to help you to practise!

Repeat new words and phrases many times When you learn new words or phrases, copy how they are said by a native-speaker, then say them out loud to yourself many times. It will eventually become a habit to use them.

Keep a diary

Keep a diary in English Write down a few things that you’ve done each day, in English. This will help to improve your writing. Just writing a few sentences can make a difference. Write about something funny or interesting that happened.

Read interesting news articles or books in English, but make sure they are not too difficult for you. If you are interested in what you are reading, you will learn English much faster. This is a website with news articles in different levels of English. Choose ones that are the right level for you.

Watch short YouTube videos or films in English. If you don’t understand the English, turn on the subtitles, first in your language, then the next time in English.

Sing in English! Try to learn the latest English songs and sing them. This is good practice for speaking. Have a look at this website. You have to fill in gaps in the song lyrics. This will also help your reading and writing.
