Who we work with

Our host organisations

We enjoy an ongoing partnership with our host organisations: Mill Hill Chapel and ‘Slung Low’ at The Holbeck. Examples of recent activities and events are:

  • ‘Musicultural Conversations’ sessions on Tuesday evenings at The Holbeck, organised by Liz & Nicky Bray. Guests from CCL could join in group singing, enjoy a hot meal, and meet with people from other organisations.
  • Xmas stalls held at Holbeck Xmas Fair in 2019 and 2021.

Opera North & Leeds Playhouse

  • Visits to shows – a small number of free tickets are regularly offered for our guests to use.
  • Opera North ‘Lullaby Project’ that we were involved in. The ON team recorded lullabies from their own countries, sung by guests. The recordings may have been put online.
  • The West Yorkshire Playhouse’s final production before its major renovation and transformation into Leeds Playhouse, was a show called ‘Searching for the Heart of Leeds’. Conversation Club and Helen Parkin (RIP) in particular featured in a small way, although the names were changed.
